The Sermon of Fadak by Lady Fāṭimah al-Zahrā’(AS) stands as a pivotal and enduring act of protest against injustice and tyranny. One of its central themes in the introduction is Prophethood. Some analysts, focusing on these initial passages, have treated them merely as a preamble to the core discussion, suggesting they are loosely connected to the sermon's broader context. To achieve a profound understanding of these passages and their intrinsic link to the sermon's macro-theme, this study employs the Practical Discourse Analysis Method (PDAM), a systematic theory grounded in the Islamic worldview. The Prophethood passage was analysed using this method, which is designed to uncover the complex relations governing text production, implicit narratives, and the manifest and latent meanings of the text. The analysis was conducted across five domains: Structural, Semantic, Communicative, Discursive, and Meta-Discursive. The findings indicate that Lady Fāṭimah al-Zahrā’(AS) identified a primary catalyst for the deviations following the Prophet’s(PBUH) demise as a deficient and superficial understanding of the Prophet's station and the ultimate objectives of Prophethood. Drawing on transcendent insight from her superhuman knowledge, she presents the station of the Prophet and Prophethood as God's Pre-Creation plan. By articulating the monumental transformations brought about by the Divine Mission (Biʿthah), she marginalizes the rival discourse, which reduced the prophetic station to mere governmental authority and personalized the Prophet's commandments. Furthermore, by establishing her lineage and affiliation in this passage, she reinforces her spiritual status, a position the Prophet(PBUH) had repeatedly affirmed.
