The elements of textual cohesion are embedded within the linguistic system, such as vocabulary, reference, substitution, conjunction, etc., all of which are inherent to the language itself. The greater the use of these elements in a text, the more enduring it becomes. Al-Ṣaḥīfa al-Sajjādiyya, given its precious content, is characterized by a dignified and solid style, and one of the main reasons for its lasting influence is the systematic cohesion imparted to it by Imam Sajjād (pbuh). The twentieth supplication, Makārim al-Akhlāq, is the most renowned prayer in the Ṣaḥīfa Sajjādiyya, distinguished by the quality of its words, sentences, profound concepts, and the beauty embedded within them, all expressed at the pinnacle of eloquence and rhetoric. The present study, employing content analysis, examines the elements of textual cohesion in the Supplication of Makārim al-Akhlāq by Imam Sajjād (pbuh) based on the Halliday and Hasan's theory. One of the key findings of this study is that the supplication has both social and individual dimensions. Each section is interconnected through lexical, grammatical, and conjunctive cohesive elements, with each component complementing the previous one. In fact, all components collectively represent social and individual values, thereby creating a beautiful continuum and cohesion.
