Many of the hadiths narrated by the Prophet (PBUH) point to the truthfulness and status of Imam Ali (PBUH). One of these hadiths is the mutawatir hadith “Ali is with the truth,” which, with the knowledge of the jurisprudence of hadith, can be understood as the meaning and original intent of the Prophet’s (PBUH) words. The research revealed that this hadith was narrated in seven different forms from the Prophet (PBUH) in the historical and narrational sources of the Sunnis and was first recorded in the Sunan of Tirmidhi. This hadith is authentic and reliable in terms of chain of transmission. The chain of transmission of this hadith was narrated by 24 companions, including the first Caliph, Saad bin Ubadah, Abu Dharr Ghaffari, Miqdad, Salman Farsi, Ammar Yasir, Abu Musa al-Ash'ari, Abu Ayyub Ansari, Saad bin Abi Waqqas, Abdullah bin Abbas, Jabir bin Abdullah Ansari and Hudhaifa bin Yaman, Aisha, Umm Salamah, etc. Many Sunni scholars and traditionists such as Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili, Ahmad bin Ali bin al-Muthanna, Hakim al-Nishaburi, Ibn Asakir, and Khatib Baghdadi have mentioned this hadith in their works. This research was conducted using an analytical and descriptive method, and the findings of this research show that this extensive collection of reliable narrators in the chain of transmission has increased the credibility of the hadith. In addition to the reliability of the chain of transmission, the text of the hadith also has conceptual strength and original meaning, and has a special place in the sources of narration.
